During the opening of KunstRai art fair 1988 Jacqueline de Jong visited the booth of Galerie van Gelder. The photo was taken by Thora Johansen and during the decades that passed by the negative got lost, hence a unique print.

Jaap Kroneman is one of the founders of Flat Real Art, a branch of the visual arts, which uses concrete reality to begin with. Observed reality is the basis and in the implementation of his work that is flattened. Reality is abstracted, but nevertheless always recognizable. This print has been partly painted, i.e. the nipples and trousers. The outlines have been drawn with black crayon.

This is the first catalogue of works by Sylvie Fleury. Shopping bag installation “It’s Clinique Bonus Time’ (1991) has been installed by her for a second time at Galerie van Gelder in Amsterdam in 1992. She added paper shopping bags from Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, USA, including her shoppings.

 

Added information:
For some reason it is seldom mentioned that the paper bag installations contain original shoppings of Sylvie Fleury. At the time she installed the piece she doubted to take her shoppings with her back home, since all these cloths were personal belongings that fitted her.
