TAKAKO SAITO, Wassermusik, 2000
TAKAKO SAITO, Wassermusik, 2000
33 x 17,3 cm
hand made plastic bag, permanent felt pen ink, heat press ridges, metal rings, dried up water and sand from river Rhine
series of circa 2-3 unique works
signed, dated
condition: more than fine, sand colouring at bottom of inner bags
inv.TSai 262-pr
It is known that Takako Saito has made a few of these unique hand made plastic bags called “Wassermusik”, with geometric patterns alluding to musical scores without written notes. Apparently the water took care of the music. The bag is supposed to hang on a wall and was filled with water from the Rhine in Düsseldorf, Germany. In the long run this evaporated. Considering the use and age of this unique item it is in an excellent condition, without tears, cracks, rust or petrification. KvG June 2022

The story in this biographical book start as follows:
‘The story I am going to tell is a story that Jack had said several times we should make a film of. In those days I was never interested in writing down everything, but here it is.
With a girlfriend I decided to travel to New York. It was meant to not be a short holiday. We thought it was the coolest place to go to. If we could survive in New York, that would be the ultimate challenge.
I told more than Jack intended me to tell, but I did it the way he said it: “Write it down, the Six Street Gallery story and all the things that happened with you, because it sounds like a movie.’

KLAUS VOM BRUCH ?, no title, ca 1981-1985 [VHS cassette + 4 photo’s]
KLAUS VOM BRUCH ?, no title, ca 1981-1985
VHS cassette box, photo copy, 4 Fuji Color photo prints (each 8.8 x 12.6 cm)
splendid condition
unknown publisher
condition: splendid, although one photo has two weak corner folds
For this item an artist’s name is not at hand. It is attributed to Klaus vom Bruch but it cannot be approved. At some point in the eighties I got hold on this VHS cassette including four vintage photo prints. I have a vague remembrance that I got it from Vereniging van Videokunstenaars founded in Amsterdam in 1982. Somewhere I have the idea that this cassette was a kind of promotion material of a video film to be launched soon. Hence a lacking VHS video tape. KvG
